Philipp Winnes' (B.V. 350) first letter after his arrival in Hongkong in May 1852. He decides to learn Hakka and work with Lechler in Tungfo.

Minutes of a conference, held by Lechler, Hamberg and Winnes in Hongkong on whether or not to continue with mission work in China. Added to this letter (without number) a copy from a newspaper article on a court case Guetzlaff versus Neumann.

Lechler mentions the death of Hamberg's co worker Kong Jin. Also a translation of a report by Wong Kong Lau in Tiotshio on Guetzlaff and his people.

Hamberg now in Pukak reports on the journey from Hongkong to Pukak. Lechler and Winnes remain in nearby Tungfo, all three of them now concentrating on the Hakka people.
