In his annual report Winnes again mentions the emigration of members of his congregation. Also Tai, formerly Lechler's language teacher, has left them together with all the Christians of Ha Tschun. P. 9: Winnes' co worker Lil tschin kau receives a letter from Hung Yin, the Tai ping wan's cousin to come and join him. Winnes voices the opinion on the Tai ping movement. See also A-1.3. 1854,10. Lechler describes a visit to the outstation Ten lung tschu to the East of Victoria and other villages in this area.

The newly built mission house in Hongkong is now finished. Lechler defends the building of this house to the committee in Basel.
