[apparently a collection of sayings and proverbs, grouped by topic] NB from "The Third Anniversary Discourse" to "A Short History of Persia" the pages are numbered consecutively as if they were double quarto sheets, i.e. the sheets are numbered, so every fourth page has a page number. From this it would appear that the book was bound after the pages had been written. This volume has been in the hands of the Basel Mission since the 19th century - its spine is marked "56", a reference number under which it appears in a nineteenth century Basel Mission Library catalogue. Presumably it consists of copies made by an interested scholar who had links with the Basel Mission and later handed this compilation over to the Basel Mission Library.
