The indexing is becoming more detailed, and a selection of particular captions from the section indexes is made here: Canara District Conference documents 17-23 seems to be an extended discussion of Basel Mission schools. This volume begins with a 45-document section entitled "General Visitation of the Indian Stations 1863". The printed English-language Annual Reports of the Basel Mission refer to this process both under 1862 and 1863 and explain that instead of calling the missionaries together for a General Conference, which should have been held in 1863, the three top officials of the Basel Mission in India (Chairman, Secretary of the General Conference, and the "Agent" in charge of administration and finance) were visiting all mission stations. This section records their visits over the period January to October 1863. This is followed in the normal way by sections on the District Conference in South Karnataka (12 documents); Mangalore (87); Mulki & Udipi (26); Kurg/Kodagu (20), and in the same section index [sic!], Honowar (4).
