Erklärung auf der Rückseite: Mitteilung von Pfr. O. Lädrach, Ex-chaplain of H.M. troops. (22.1.1947): Anno 1900 im Juli wurde diese Photo in Kyebi vor der Kapelle der Basler Mission aufgenommen, von einem Eingebornen. Rechts aussen: Political Officer Hull, ein netter der B.M. sehr freundlich gesinnter Mensch, Regierungsbeamter. Im weissen Kittel: Rev. O. Lädrach, Chaplain of the Native Troops of the Akem tribes, damals stationiert in Begoro, 25 jährig. Mit Pay-List in der Hand: ein eingeborener Zahlmeister-clerk. Mit Wadenbinden: Captain Benson, Neffe des Erzbischofs von Canterbury, Leiter der Asante-Akem-Expedition 1900, beging Selbstmord am 29. August 1900 in Asante-Odumase, wo er begraben liegt "Lost the battle of Bohankra, 28. August 1900". Die Truppen sind a) Volunteers of Accra, b) einige Haussa-Soldaten. Explanation on the reverse: Message from Rev. O. Lädrach, Ex-chaplain of H.M. troops. (22.1.1947): Anno 1900 in July this photo was taken in Kyebi in front of the chapel of the Basel Mission, by a native. On the far right: Political Officer Hull, a nice person very friendly to the B.M., government official. In the white coat: Rev. O. Lädrach, Chaplain of the Native Troops of the Akem tribes, then stationed in Begoro, 25 years old. With pay-list in hand: a native paymaster-clerk. With calf ties: Captain Benson, nephew of the Archbishop of Canterbury, leader of the Asante-Akem Expedition 1900, committed suicide on 29 August 1900 at Asante-Odumase where he is buried "Lost the battle of Bohankra, 28 August 1900". The troops are a) Volunteers of Accra, b) some Haussa soldiers.
