Biography: Helene Oldenburg was an Austrian African explorer, author and photographer. In 1907, she and her husband Rudolf Theodor Paul Oldenburg moved to Cameroon, where Rudolf Oldenburg worked on behalf of the "Deutsche Kamerun Gesellschaft. At the suggestion of the ethnographer Rudolf Pöch, the Oldenburgs amassed a large collection of ethnographic photographs and objects from West Africa.

Together with his wife Helene Oldenburg, he created a large collection of ethnographic photos and objects from West Africa, especially from Cameroon and Guinea. Between 1907 and 1913 he worked for the "Deutsche Kamerun Gesellschaft" in Douala.

The fee is 60 Swiss Francs per image and 150 Swiss Francs per image if redigitalization is required. Please note that the images may not be used for commercial advertising or in any context of a racial or sexist nature. For websites or blogs no high-resolution images will be provided. The images may not be modified and can only be used as a whole.
