"Kopierbücher Nachlass Kaundinya-Reinh[ardt]"

Kaundinya-Reinhardt papers, copy books 1863-74. The box contains the remains of three tissue-paper copy books for the wet-press copy method, covering the years 1863 to 1876. Conservation standard (paper and ink): on the whole moderate to moderately good, though some letters are completely illegible. A cursory examination indicates that the letters are mainly, but not exclusively, German-language correspondence with Basel Mission colleagues in India. Some English-language letters to addressees in India can be found. Private correspondence with H. Mögling continues after the latter’s return to Europe.
