Letters from Uncle Reinhardt and Aunt Emily to Mother [Marie Reinhardt] 1855-59. NB however this title is radically inadequate compared with the contents of the box. A thin envelope has the same title as the folder, and was not examined by me - the letters are very tightly folded. The rest of the folder is exclusively made up of personal letters in German from 1859 to 1893/99, almost all years being represented. They were all written in Germany, and mostly addressed to Marie Kaundinya by members of her family in Württemberg. (It is true that her sister Emilie is especially well represented), though some letters are addressed to Hermann Kaundinya, and some to the two of them together. It may well be that not all are family letters, some being from friends. The letters were in no visible order, and are now roughly ordered by year, with a special group of letters whose date could not be ascertained. NB the fact that Emily is referred to as "Aunt" suggests that a child or children of Hermann and Marie Kaundinya was/were responsible for ordering these papers.
