"Papiere über den Prozess des Chirakal Rajah gegen Chowa Jam vom Jahre 1867, 1882"

Papers on the court case pursued by the Chirakal Rajah against Chowa Jam[?sic] 1867 & 1882. The bulk of the papers date from a land case in 1882 over property claimed by the Rajah but occupied by the Christian community in Chowa. This envelope also contains materials collected in the late 1860s. The envelope contains no information as the resolution of the case in 1882. The papers are probably in the Basel archive because G. Pfleiderer, who was working in Basel in 1882, had played a key role as Basel Mission Agent in the original land purchase. His testimony in 1882 is included in the file.
