Description
Sawyer’s missionary project. E.E. Sawyer was the directing engineer about to start building a railway from the west coast (Goa) to Dharwad and Hubli in 1881. He proposed that the Basel Mission should extend its work to cover the main settlements which would grow up because of the railway, and the matter was evidently discussed in the Basel Mission committee.
