"J.J.Jaus, Missionsstoff-Sammlung"

Materials for mission festivals, meetings with supporters, tracts etc. The file holding this material gives the date 1917/18 and describes the contents as "19 Hefte" = quarto thin soft-cover exercise books, with the labels of the stationers in Württemberg who had sold them. They seem to have been originally numbered by their author in red pencil 1-21. A letter dated 10th April 1941 records their reception in the Basel archive, though even at that stage nos. 16,17 and 19 were registered as missing. When this material was inspected in July 2008 two exercise books were numbered 1 and 1a, exercise books 2-14 were present, 15 & 16 were missing, 17 was present, 18 was missing, and 19-21 were present. All but No. 21 are dated to months between January 1917 and November 1918. These notebooks look interesting - a host of notes on different topics designed for PR work "at home", and in fairly good handwriting.
