"General-Präses 1838-1852 / Field Secretary 1838-1852"

The remains of a volume constructed like C-5-4.7. The pages of the documents have been numbered 1-406. There is what looks like a rather fragmentary index lying loose with the other papers. The condition of perhaps two-thirds of the documents (paper/ink) is good, the rest are suffering from ink spreading especially so that the script is visible on the reverse side. The file seems to have been generated in Hebich’s office. The majority of its contents are letters from Basel, but there are also letters from other Basel missionaries in India pasted in.
