Format 27x23.5 cm, largely original letters from Basel bound together in a volume whose covers have been lost. No consecutive page numbers, but the documents are numbered 1-103, and there is at the rear an alphabetical index of themes, persons etc. Condition: much of the paper is in reasonably good condition, but there are several original letters from Basel significantly damaged by ink and more or less illegible. The name of the actual writer of the letter from Basel is often given - LeGrand, Weitbrecht - presumably these were Josenhans’ secretaries. The file was generated in the office of the head of the Mangalore station. A number of duplicated circulars produced in Mangalore are bound in here also, including the long minutes of Missionaries’ Conferences in India.
