Ledger with format 32.5x16 cm, 192 numbered pages, and a crude alphabetical index of missionaries’ names at the rear. About three-quarters used, with repeated sections of empty pages. Working language: mixed. Condition: good, though the binding needs repair. This seems to be a record of the individual financial position of missionaries - see also C-5-3.7. A number of loose documents are lying in this volume - one or two about problems with internees’ baggage; a 3-page typed "List of deposits confiscated by the Custodian of Enemy Property Madras....belonging to the members of the Basel Mission formerly in India", dated 15.3.1918; and a Schluss-Bilanz der Buchführung in den Gefangenelangern zu Ahmednagar und Jercaud India, Dezember 1914 bis Dezember 1919, i.e. Closing balance of the accounts in the prisoner-of-war camps in Ahmednagar and Jercaud, India.....
