[NB the title on the spine given above gives the wrong chronological spread: the years covered are, as the title page states 1877-1908]. Volume in new binding. Foolscap format, pages numbered by hand up to 175 (1888), c. 40 further pages used, perhaps the final third of the book unused. Condition: pretty good. Minutes of South Canara District Conferences and Synods. The first Synod minutes are found in 1879, but note that the "Large Conference" held in November 1877 has as a subtitle: "Districts Synode" - (s. p. 27). "Large Conferences" are also found in C-5-2.8. Other references to the question of the date of the first Synod in this or any other Basel Mission district in India are to be found in the introductory material to the C-1 volumes for 1877 (before C-1.61, p. 52 above), and in Q-9.6.15 under 1868 and 1869 on pp. 281-282 above.
