A fairly chaotic file. The smallest part at the rear has letters in alphabetical order of author (though letters from Stanley Jones appear both under "J" and "St"...). A number of these are from Indian correspondents. The front four-fifths of the file consists of a highly miscellaneous collection of documents in no clear arrangement. I list here important elements which came to light during a cursory investigation: - Papers from Missionaries’ General Conferences in these years - drafts of amended BM regulations, constitution etc - Plans for picture books and slide shows on India for the work in Europe - negotiations about the terms of the return of Basel Mission property and a printed petition protesting that the Basel Mission is thinking of selling properties - circulars from Hartenstein to the staff in India - printed petition by the workers of the Commonwealth Trust Tile works at Kudroli, Mangalore - telegram texts to and from India - materials from Indian periodicals in English and Kannada
