Inside the volume is divided into two parts: "Briefe an den Ostindischen General-Agenten" July 1861-Feb. 1876, 112 numbered pages; and "Kanara" Aug. 1860-Nov. 1876, 278 separately numbered pages. The first part is composed of letters addressed to what were effectively the Field AND DISTRICT Treasurers. The second part seems to consist of letters to officials of the Canara (i.e. Southern Karnataka) district, NB including the District Treasurer. There is an outline index of this part at its end.
