"Malabar 1910 / Correspondence from India: North Kerala and the Nilgiris 1910."

For the quarterly and annual reports from North Kerala in 1910 see C-1.179. This volume contains only letters/correspondence. This volume consists of the following sections: Malabar District Executive Committee (26 documents); Cannanore (22); Talatscheri (21); Chombala (12); Calicut (40); Manjeri (3); Codacal (12); Waniyankulam (4); Palghat (21); Keti (11); Kalhatti (4) and Kotageri (2). Cross references were prepared in this volume to Minutes of the Malabar District Conference and Synod, and the Nilagiri Conference, but have not been completed. These documents were evidently being filed somewhere else. Their location has not been written into the cross-references here, but seems to have been C-1.177D. Interesting documents (chosen after a survey of the captions for each document in the section index): A District Synod Executive Committee has been formed, with three named local pastors among its members (Malabar District Executive Committee documents 1, 4) General administration of teachers, catechists and evangelists (accomodation, refresher courses, emoluments): Malabar District Executive Committee 5-6, 8, 16- 18; Chombala 69-71, 73. Annual accounts of the Casamajor Mission Fund for 1909 (Kalhatti 172). Cananore 42 is a number of the printed "Official Gazette of the Basel German Evangelical Mission in India", dated December 1908. It contains (pp. 1-10) information on the Schoolmasters’ Pension Fund and detailed accounts of the Catechists’ and the Schoolmasters’ Pension Funds for 1907 (pp. 11-19). Several unbound and uncatalogued documents are lying between the front endpapers. And the volume seems, like C-1.175, not very well constructed.
