"Gebietsakten Indien 1853 / Letters and Reports from India, 1853."

[This volume contains letters and reports from 1853. Its relationship to C-1.15 is not clear, but the two are evidently complementary]. With C-1.14 this Series returns to the usual BM archive organisation. The volume is divided into clearly labelled sections, and each document is numbered and listed at the beginning of the section. The sections are: Mangalore (6 documents), Mulki (7), Honowar (2), Almanda* (1 document: "Preaching journey by Almanda to Subramaniah"), Dharwad (6), Hubli (1), Gadag Betgeri (1), Malasamudra (1), Guledagudda (1), Cannanore (3), Tellicherry (2), Chombala (4), Calicut (8), Keti (1). *NB unusually "Almanda" seems to refer to a person more than to a place. NB one document by Weigle on Lingayatism and dated 1853 has been filed in an appendix (Anhang) at the end of C-1.26. See C-1.15 for a more detailed exposition of the contents of C-1.14.
