We give here the number of documents per year in brackets: 1834 (7), 1835 (4), 1836 (15), 1837 (16), 1838 (15), 1839 (29), 1840 (33), 1841 (25). There is an index for the documents of each year, but these lists usually give only the date and place of origin, and the name of the author. The only indications of content are the keywords Reisebericht/Reisebeschreibung - Reports of journeys Tagebuch - extracts from diaries Reports on the boarding school in Mangalore are indicated by the word Anstalt. A few documents are in English. MSS of materials to be published in the English-language Annual Reports are to be found at C-1.2.Mangalore.1840.28 and C-1.2.Mangalore 1841.1. C-1.2.Mangalore 1841.25 is an 8-page essay by a pupil of the Boarding School. It seems to be the recent history of his immediate Tamil family and is presented in good handwriting, in English.
