Description
His journey to Krobo and Akwamu and Peki. Visits Manva Krobo on the mountain, stays in Odonkor Azu's stone house. People think he comes because of the palavers between Akwapim and Krobo (especially Krobo and Apirede and Adukrun people) to Odonkor Azu's plantation village (Odumase). Kindly received by Odonkor Azu (pp 1-2). To Senke (Senchi) and Akomu(Akwamufie): Sympathy to the young chief of Akwamu. Akwamu deserted almost (war with Peki people). Chief will tell mission when their houses are rebuilt so that a missionary could settle among them. Widmann tries to convince him to stop ritual murders (pp 2-4). Passing Anum: Favorable impression of the people and village. A fetish woman dancing in his honor (pp 4-5). Visit at Peki: Reverend Wolf very glad, the chief understands Widmann's Twi-Indio production for the coloring of their cotton. Rice from Eiyambo, Two days journey away. Widmann plans to try rice at Akropong although he knows that Akropong dry. Wolf promises to send seeds. Prayer meeting with Wolf and Jonathan Palmer and Paul Staudt who had accompanied Widmann (pp 5-6). Return: By Asidjarre, past Osudoku, sleeping in the open air at the foot of the Shai mountains, getting a cold there. Shai hills many pots fabricated there (p 7). After return via Late getting very sick at Akropong. People say: Fetish angry, because he went to Akwariu. But recovered through God's grace (p 8).
