The people there vaccinate the small pox, taking matter from the people who had it and rubbed it into cuttings. People thus vaccinated get the disease in a lesser degree, but they all get it (p 4). Oct 29th: School reopened with 14 boys, one went round the town to chase the boys, found many still sick. Three days later most recovered, but they ran into the sea, so that he might not catch them. The big school without proper supervision by the missionary not much use, the boys know almost nothing from the bible (p 4). Visit to Teshi on 22nd November: School of six boys, slow progress. The four baptised people glad to be visited. Pity he cannot speak Ga. Hears of difficulties in the College at Akropong (p 5). To Aburi, because Meischel seriously ill, to Akropong settling of the college difficulties, back to Ussu since Stanger sick (p 6).
