Description
They could not finish the repair of the sawing machine and the bricks. The following buildings were completed: 1) A stone house containing the store, the girl’s school room for Mrs. Widmann, and a carpenter's workshop. 2) A Turkey house and also for corn and empty bottles. 3) A stone stable for goats and sheep. 4) A latrine with a pit so as to get manure. The old latrine converted into a washing room. A new kitchen built and a new blacksmith shed. The houses were covered with shingles given out to the West Indians on contract (p 1). Work of the carpenters: Tables etc (exact list given). Work of the labourers: clearing bush, building, farm work etc (listed). Thompson willing to do any work, but not truly repentant, though using the language of Canaan.
