"Stipulations for the West Indian Brethren in Danish Accra"

1)The West Indiana must give notice of their staying or returning before the 1st of July. The decision of each one will be accepted by the missionaries. 2) No passage of a West Indian brethren staying in the country after April 16th 1848 will be paid. 3) Nobody leaving before this date without the consent of the agents of the mission will have his passage paid. 4) It will not be possible to send all returning families in the same vessel. 5) Those returning will have their house kept in repair and their salaries paid till the day of departure. 6) The mission engages to build new stone houses containing three rooms each for those remaining. If brethren are employed by the mission, they will receive 15 strings of cowries a day, but the mission is not obliged to employ them and to find work for all. The mission is ready to buy land for those remaining and to present it to them as property. Aged people and invalids will be supported by the mission. The mission will take care of father or motherless children. The children of those remaining in the country will be allowed to learn any trade suitable on the expenses of the society, so that they can earn their keep afterwards.
