"Widmann from Ussu"

Glad that the committee at last agrees to the stationing of a missionary at Christiansborg. About Riis’ house at Ussu: Dr. Hansen whom he allowed to stay in the hones is drunk daily and makes a lot of noise. He pleases the committee send them goods. There are only guns and powder to be got in the fort and their instructions prohibit them to sell such. Their own people at Akropong have been stealing from the missionaries, especially interpreter and supervisor Ashong. He showed no repentence so they had to dismiss him. Good relations and hope with the West Indians. Andreas Riis had auctioned their only horse left, they had to buy it back for the mission. He took it to Akropong, where it created quite a stir, a horse is here as rare as an elephant in Germany. Adum shall be sent to the West Indies with a warship which is due soon there. Went to Ussu because of sickness (abscess on lips) of H. Riis.
