About the journey to Akwamu. See: Missionsmagazin 1839 pp 455-476 and the details about the death of his daughter and Mürdter. Riis himself felt very sick after the loss of Mürdter and daughter. But he has recovered. Mürdter wanted to leave the region of the Danish Governor but Riis counts it his supreme duty to stay - God himself has prepared a refuge to them made them to live in peace and friendship with the Africans and prevented the rage of the Governor from achieving the worst.
