Matters have changed to his advantage. The Governor has permitted him to return to Akwapim. Translation of the request of Riis to the Governor and council to be allowed to go back and the answer from 11th May: Not allowed, troubles in Akwapim make it not safe. He shall go to the plantation Frederiksgave to recuperate if he does not like the climate -an investigation into his affairs may be needed. Answer ridiculous: There are no troubles in Akwapim and he is not involved in any political trouble. On the 29th May: Governor grants permission - this permission confirmed by Governor and council on 2nd June.
