Arthur Hoffmann leitete von 1911 bis 1917 als Bundesrat das Politische Departement und trat zu der Zeit als Führsprecher der BHG auf der Britischen Regierung auf. Nach seinem Rücktritt vertrat Hoffmann die Interessen der BHG weiterhin von seiner Advokatur in St. Gallen aus. Arthur Hoffmann headed the Political Department as Federal Councillor from 1911 to 1917, and at the time was the leading spokesman for the BHG in the British government. After his resignation, Hoffmann continued to represent the interests of the BHG from his law office in St. Gallen.
