"Baur's Letter of Resignation"

Links his resignation strongly with the Schott affair - they had laid considerable emphasis on I Cor 9vv1-14 in their dealings with local employees, and he is also very disillusioned with the exploitative attitude of the Christians to the missionaries, and their readiness to practice theft (this refers to ordinary members of the community and the schoolboys) against mission property. There has been considerable trouble moving the Middle School to Begoro -the accommodation offered was not good enough according teachers and pupils. (NB It appears fron this letter that there was a portrait of the Kaiser on a wall in the Kibi school).
