"Lodholz' Report for the First Quarter of 1873"

A detailed report of his journey in west Akim in January 1873, partially printed as an annex to the 1873 Annual Report pp58-62. Additional material: His original plan was to travel Abomosu-Asuum-Ensuayim-Asiaman-Osiangase-Kibi. At the end of the report he writes about general news. Of the 9 catechumens at end 1872 he had just baptised 5 girls. Furthermore 7 young men of Dade-Ntem have registered as catechumen, and one from Tete, so that there are 12 catechumen undergoing instructions in the difficult context of people being frequently required to join units of armed men involved in the war. Several Akims newly escaped from Asante captivity report a butchering of Akim prisoners in Asante. Also that Ramseyer is to be seen preaching in the streets and holding school in Kumasi.
