Item Details
Title:
"Christaller to Basel"
Description
Describing his January visit to Kibi. Flowers had been planted on Mrs Christaller’s grave, a low wall placed around it, a wooden cross erected, and an oil-palm planted. Christaller had found Culmann’s book on Christian ethics very interesting. Mader had brought it to read on the journey, and they discussed its implications for their work together. Thirdly there was a castor-oil plant at the station in Kibi. Christaller remarks that its leaves, when placed on the head during fever are good for the headache. This seems to be a part of European lore - he says he learned it from his natural history.
