He had acquired her because he could get no-one to serve him, and Missionary Mader had suggested that buying someone with the slave emancipation fund would be the best plan. He had bought this particular eight-year old girl because she was a six-fingered child and when the Abompe people had brought her to Kibi, no-one else had wanted to buy her. The price involved was 26 dollars.
