A further short report on Asante Akim. The chief of Asante Akim has recently asked him to write on his behalf to the Governor, asking to be taken into the English protectorate. Ramseyer has hopes that this will happen, since Ateobu has recently been accepted also. Indeed Ramseyer has hopes that Asante - that is to say the part of it still existing, Kumasi and its environs will soon be a part of the British Protectorate. The Acting Governor has only recently written to him that this is only a matter of time.
