Title:
"Ramseyer to the Basler Anstaltsverein"
Description
Clearly a reply to a letter addressed to him by one of the mission's supporters. The real king of Kwahu is Aku Amoa, but he is old and delicate and most of the functions of the king are performed by the chief of Abetifi who will probably succeed him. Aku Amoa’s seat is at Abene. He describes a preaching tour undertaken with the boys of the boarding school - their singing is interesting to the people. In Abene a funeral custom is interrupted to enable him to speak. They also went to Sadai, but found hardly anyone in the village since they had all gone to the Afram to fish. (The Afram is 5 hours away).
