"Strömberg to Basel"

A letter from Haas has just arrived in Akropong which shows that the information about Agyeman's attack to Kibi forces is to be false. A Kibi attack has again been repulsed, and although Agyeman wanted to follow up their retreat, he was restrained because he did not want to attack them on their own territory, and also because the Okwamu people barred the way to him. He is also short of provisions and ammunition. The letter concludes with an account of the measures approved by the station conference at Akropong for the safety of the Gyadam missionaries. They are given full power at their own discretion if it becomes necessary to put themselves under Atta’s protection. They foresee a situation in which Agyeman will not allow them to evacuate themselves or a part of the station staff (specifically Mrs Haas).
