"Süss to Basel"

Gives additional information over his movements after leaving Gyadam in 1856. Decided in Gyadam to settle in the Kofrodua district, primarily in order to carry on trading and farming. Many people would be able to settle there in time. The only problem in his mind was whether it was healthy there or not. In Akropong opinion was against the plan, and Zimmermann told him of the place which he did in the end settle, though at that state he held fast to the Kofrodua idea. In Accra conversations with Rottman and Locher and a visit to the mouth of the Sakumo did little to clear his ideas. It so happened that when visited Steinhauser at Abokobi, however, Steinhauser was just on the point of making a journey to Krobo, so Süss went along with him and found the place where he eventually settled.
